You Are Valuable

imagesby Hazel Straub

How much one is willing to pay, determines the value. Jesus paid with his life, to redeem us from our sins, shame, iniquity and pain. Our Creator willingly laid down his life because he valued us so much. Our God and Redeemer places the highest value on us. Rejoice in how precious you are.

Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you. (Isaiah 43:4 NLT)

Encourage Each Other

Unknownby Hazel Straub

We need each other. When one of us gets discouraged, someone comes along and encourages them.  An encouraging word can help someone to get up and keep going on toward their destiny. Giving an uplifting, inspiring, motivating, revitalizing support, confidence or hope to the discouraged helping them continue. Be an encourager and a life changer today!

God didn’t set us up for an angry rejection but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. He died for us, a death that triggered life. Whether we’re awake with the living or asleep with the dead, we’re alive with him! So speak encouraging words to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it. (Thessalonians 5:11-13 MSG)

Treat Others With Mercy

imagesby Hazel Straub

When you treat people the way that you want to be treated, you sow the same thing into your life. When you show mercy to others, when you need mercy you receive it. Forgiving others allow for forgiveness for you. Love those who don’t deserve it and you will have love when you don’t deserve it. Give mercy, kindness and love and reap the same.

If you don’t want to be judged, don’t judge. If you don’t want to be condemned, don’t condemn. If you want to be forgiven, forgive. Don’t hold back—give freely, and you’ll have plenty poured back into your lap—a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, brimming over. You’ll receive in the same measure you give. (Luke 6:37-38 The Voice)

Love And Bless Your Enemies

imagesby Hazel Straub

Jesus has extraordinary instructions for his followers. Love your enemies and bless those who curse you. The rewards are great. We love because he first loved us.

If you’re listening, here’s My message: Keep loving your enemies no matter what they do. Keep doing good to those who hate you. Keep speaking blessings on those who curse you. Keep praying for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, offer the other cheek too. If someone steals your coat, offer him your shirt too. If someone begs from you, give to him. If someone robs you of your valuables, don’t demand them back. Think of the kindness you wish others would show you; do the same for them.

Listen, what’s the big deal if you love people who already love you? Even scoundrels do that much! So what if you do good to those who do good to you? Even scoundrels do that much! So what if you lend to people who are likely to repay you? Even scoundrels lend to scoundrels if they think they’ll be fully repaid.

If you want to be extraordinary—love your enemies! Do good without restraint! Lend with abandon! Don’t expect anything in return! Then you’ll receive the truly great reward—you will be children of the Most High—for God is kind to the ungrateful and those who are wicked. So imitate God and be truly compassionate, the way your Father is. (Luke 6:27-36 The Voice)

Sow And Reap A Harvest

imagesby Hazel Straub

What type of crop do you want to grow? Seeds that you have sown quite some time ago that you have forgotten will be giving you a bumper harvest. When you sow kindness, love, mercy, grace and forgiveness, you will get more of the same. Anger, hatred, selfishness, pride, jealousy and mockery will bring the same into your life. Sow seeds that lead to life and not death.

Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. (Galatians 6:7-9 NLT)

God’s Steadfast Love

imagesby Hazel Straub

O True God, You are my God, the One whom I trust.
I seek You with every fiber of my being.
In this dry and weary land with no water in sight,
my soul is dry and longs for You.
My body aches for You, for Your presence.
I have seen You in Your sanctuary
and have been awed by Your power and glory.
Your steadfast love is better than life itself,
so my lips will give You all my praise.
I will bless You with every breath of my life;
I will lift up my hands in praise to Your name. (Psalms 63-1-4 The Voice)

Faith Removes Mountains

imagesby Hazel Straub

Faith, complete trust and confidence in God pleases him. With confident belief, we can speak to mountains and see them cast into the sea. Those things that have bound us to the past, removed and we walk in new freedom from fear and intimidation. With the leading of Holy Spirit, we conquer giants, in the name of our God.

David had confident faith and took on the giant, Goliath, in the name of Yahweh, while a youth. David knew that no weapon formed against him would prosper because God was fighting his battle. A slingshot with a stone defeated the giant due to David’s strong faith that God would fight this battle with him.

What battle do you have today? When you come with confidence in Yahweh, he fights for you and defeats the enemy.

The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. (Hebrews 11:1-2 MSG)

Rest Rather Than Strive

imagesby Hazel Straub

Rest in the Lord. Quit striving and exerting much effort and energy, getting stressed and exhausted. Give yourself a God break and let him carry the responsibility. Savor your life!

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30 MSG)

Developing Patience

imagesby Hazel Straub

There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit! (Romans 5:3-5 MSG)
