Matthew 5:6 (The Message)
“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.”
We all go through cycles of pursuing God, then falling into complacency, and sometimes backsliding. We all need refreshment, revival, renewal and hunger for righteousness in our lives. Often we settle for things that do not satisfy. God has told us to ask him for what we need. There is no bigger need than having an appetite for him. He alone can nourish our souls and spirits.
Daddy God, we know a blessing comes with hunger and thirst for you and your presence. We ask through your son, Jesus, that you give us an appetite for you alone. Make us so hungry and thirsty for you that we will not settle for anything else. Touch us with your power and fill and renew us with your Spirit. Thank you, Lord.
