Prayer For A Holy Spirit Sensitive Heart

by Hazel Straub

Lord, I give you my whole heart, asking that you would take my stony heart and give me a new heart of flesh that is sensitive and pliable to Holy Spirit and his nudges. May my heart be tender to your heart. Take my rebellious ways from me. Fill me with your love so I can love like you love without reservation, with my whole heart.

Open and illuminate the eyes of my heart with understanding and wisdom. Let me see with your revelation. myself, others and you, Lord. Let me be sensitive to your heart. May I be quick to turn fully to you and follow all your instructions. You are my help and strength today.

So be it!

Ezekiel 36:26-27 (NIV)
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.”

Heart-the entire mental and moral activity, both the rational and emotional elements. It includes the emotions, reasoning and will. (Vine’s Expository Dictionary)

God’s Love Makes Us Victorious

by Hazel Straub

It does not matter what type of problems we might experience because God is for us. The problems in life will not defeat us. His love conquers all and gives us victory. Nothing can separate us from the love of Abba Father God that is ours through Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:37-39 (NCV)
“But in all these things we are completely victorious through God who showed his love for us. Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

May God Answer You In The Day Of Trouble!

by Hazel Straub

Today I bless you, in the name of the God of Jacob, who hears and answers your cries of distress. He is with you today and carries you, when you are too weak to walk. You can rely on him and trust him for help.

Psalm 20:1-7 (Amplified)
MAY THE Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high [and defend you];
Send you help from the sanctuary and support, refresh, and strengthen you from Zion;
Remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah [pause, and think of that]!

May He grant you according to your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans.

We will [shout in] triumph at your salvation and victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.

Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.
Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God.

God’s Ministering Grace To The Hearer

by Apostle Christiana Robinson

In this season, God wants his people to not only be encouraged but to encourage each other. He wants to do away with negativity and pessimism.”My people let no corrupt communication proceed from your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying that it may minister grace to the hearer.” (Ephesians 4:29 KJV) God wants edification for all instead of putting each other down.

God ministers his grace, his unmerited favor to the hearer. You might be the hearer struggling with bills. You might be the hearer struggling with health issues. You might be the hearer struggling with the lust of your flesh. You might be the hearer having a problem with criticizing yourself or others. You might be the hearer struggling with your weaknesses. You might be the hearer struggling in your marriage.

Grace to the hearer, doesn’t look at race, nationality, size, or how light or dark your skin color. It doesn’t look at what ministry you are in, how many times you been recognized or how long you’ve been in a specific office. Grace doesn’t look at how famous you are. His Ministering Grace helps you do what you can’t do. When you are going through something and you feel like no one understands you but God, His grace keeps you from isolating yourself from loved ones. His grace keeps you from losing your mind and doing something you shouldn’t do. His ministering grace keeps you from reverting back to your old self. His ministering grace keeps you from spiritual death. His Ministering Grace is constant. It doesn’t stop. His ministering grace even helps us settle down, when we are so busy. His ministering grace gives us balance in our daily affairs and to bring balance in relationships. It brings peace to someone who is restless and brings wisdom and knowledge to the unlearned or ignorant.

God says, sometimes his people are so quick to critique, criticize, to say “I told you so” or even judge a person who has fallen. But his ministering grace picks that fallen person back up again. God is extending his ministering grace to the hearer who needs to hear someone tell them, “It’s going to be alright.” “Be encouraged.” “God will never leave you.” “Don’t worry” or “I love you.”

God is extending his ministering grace and ministering his grace to his people today. He is administering, furnishing and supplying us with ease when times seem hard, extending his care and aid to us. He is comforting us with kindness, love and mercy. He is answering and attending to your cry. He is strengthening your heart, placing you in a state of grace. Receive his Ministering Grace.

Ministering – to administer or apply, to furnish or supply, to give service, care or aid; attend as to wants or necessities. To contribute, as to comfort or happiness
Synonyms : to answer, to attend, oblige

Grace – unmerited favor, elegance or beauty of form, manner, motion, or action, attractiveness, charm, gracefulness, comeliness, ease, lissomness, fluidity, When a person expends the least amount of motion on one action, that is grace. Favor, good will, kindness, kindliness, love, benignity, a manifestation of favor by a superior, forgiveness, charity, mercifulness, the freely given, love of God, the influence or spirit of God operating in humans to regenerate or strengthen them, a virtue or excellence of Devine origin, state of grace.

Ephesians 4:29(b) (KJV)
“but that which is good to the use of edifying that it may minister grace to the hearer.”

Caleb Conquers Giants Gains Breakthrough

Across to the Promised Land

Image by Gauis Caecilius via Flickr

by Hazel Straub

The definition of breakthrough is overcoming or penetrating an obstacle or restriction. All of us have areas in our lives where we cry to God for help in overcoming obstacles. We are in a season of breakthrough. The key to breakthrough is having a determined spirit that will not take no for an answer and will trust God.

Caleb was one of twelve spies sent by Moses to report on the Promised Land before the Israelites entered the land. Ten of the spies brought a bad report and spread fear to the people. Caleb was a man of a different spirit and desired to serve God wholeheartedly. He along with Joshua tried to persuade the Israelites to go and take the land. They, however, refused and wanted to kill him instead. Caleb had to wander in the wilderness for forty years with the children of Israel, although he had done nothing wrong. All of his generation died in the wilderness except himself and Joshua.

At age 85, he decided to take his mountain in the Promised Land that had giants and strong fortifications. He remembered that God had promised him this land forty-five years earlier. Caleb knew with God’s help he would be able to take the fortresses of the giants and drive them out of his land because he was strong and vigorous. The breakthrough for Caleb came because he followed Yahweh the God of Israel fully and was not afraid of warfare. Caleb knew that Yahweh was watching out for him and would help him overcome his enemies. He took his land and received his increase for himself and his descendants.

Today it is time to believe that you have the strength and power to come through the attack of the enemy, victorious. Follow God with your whole heart, believe his promises, worship him and overcome the giants occupying your inheritance.

Blessing Of Knowing God The Father’s Love

by Hazel Straub

May God the Father, grant you by the rich treasury of his glory, strength with power, through his Spirit indwelling your inner man.

May Messiah through faith dwell and make his permanent home in your heart.
May your roots go deep and even deeper into the rich soil of his marvelous love.

May you have the power and strength to understand, with all God’s people, how wide, high and deep his incredible love is.

May you experience the Love of Messiah, though it’s so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of God;s life and power.
May God get all the glory in your life, in the church and in Messiah Jesus, as he works with his mighty power within us, more than we could dare to ask or hope.

(Adapted from Ephesians 3:16-20)

Desperate Faith Results In Breakthrough

by Hazel Straub

We are in a season of breakthrough and breakout in our lives. This breakthrough will come for people with determination to have all that God has for them. Their focus is on the Lord  and they will not allow anyone or anything to deter them from their breakthrough. They repeatedly tell themselves that once they reach Jesus they will have all that they need. No matter the hardships, setbacks and failures that they meet, they continue to press for fulfillment of their God-given desires and destiny.

Those who press through adversity are like the woman, who had blood flowing for 12 years. (Mark 5:24-34) She never gave up looking for a cure and spent all of her money on physicians, trying to get better. Instead her physical condition worsened and she had great suffering. She heard about Jesus and still had faith for her healing.

Although a large crowd surrounded Jesus, she determined to touch the fringe on his prayer shawl that represented all the promises of the Word of God. She knew that there was healing in his wings, fringe or hem (Malachi 4:20). It was not  easy to press through the crowd and her past but she had great faith that would not be denied. The law considered the woman, unclean and untouchable, so she lived her life, as an outcast. Past failures, destitution, and her untouchable status didn’t prevent her from acting in desperate faith. She told herself that she would be healed, when she touched his fringe on the hem of his garment. She did and was immediately healed.

Jesus felt power go out of him and asked who had touched him because she touched him with faith. She fell at his feet trembling and admitted that she was the one. Jesus confirmed her healing, saying her faith had healed her. He told her she would no longer suffer and would go in peace, which meant being whole and complete with nothing broken.

The woman did not let the failures of the past 12 years or her current situation, of seeming insurmountable odds, keep her from receiving what belonged to her. We are also challenged to not let anything defeat us, as we press to Jesus to receive the fulness of  our God-given destiny and desires. No matter how much time has passed and how many defeats you have experienced, this is your season of breakthrough. Press through!

Trust And Surrender To Abba God

by Hazel Straub

The failure of our own self-determined efforts that seeks for elusive success in life, drives us to draw nearer to God. He calls us to trust him, quit struggling, to let go of the baggage from our past and submit our own will to his will. As we release our grip on past failures and triumphs, we gain a deeper capacity to receive Abba God’s love.

God calls for our surrender and submission to Jesus, as Lord of our lives. He draws us close by his grace, cleansing and healing us with his unconditional love. Trust him and release your tight grip on the past, choose to obey his voice, so that you can experience the fullness of his love for you today. It is time to come from mere survival into living abundant life. Release the old, press into God and receive fresh vibrancy.

God Is Singing Over You

by Hazel Straub

God never leaves or abandons us but is always with us. He not only saves us but also takes great joy in us. His love for us is incredible, and he loves us without reservation. We do nothing to earn his love for he chooses to lavish his love on us. We are his children and he rejoices over us. He takes such delight in us that he sings over us.  He is awesome beyond description!

Zephaniah 3:17 (English Standard Version)

“Yahweh your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
