The LORD’S Glory In You

by Hazel Straub

Isaiah 60:1-2 (NIV)
“Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the LORD rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.”

It is time to arise from depression and darkness because of the new life and light of God’s Spirit inside of you. The light and radiance of God casts out all darkness. It is your time to shine with the light of God, as it transforms. Although the darkness may cover the earth, you have his light and glory. His glory brings transformation to you. His glory in you reveals God’s  light to others today. Your face is radiant with his presence. Rejoice!

I Am With You-Fear Not

by Hazel Straub

My Dear Child,

Many things concern you and you fret.  Remember, when you pass through the deep flooding water I will be there and through all the storms of life. You will not drown or be overwhelmed for I AM with you. Fear not. Feel my hand holding you. When you walk through the fire, I will be there with you and you will not burn nor smell of smoke. Do not look at the fire, flames or think about the heat. Remember I AM right beside you. Fear not, my child, for I AM with you.

Love you so much,
Abba

Isaiah 43:2 (New Living Translation)
When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

Meditate And Rehearse God’s Work

by Hazel Straub

Psalm 77:12 (KJV)
I will meditate also of all your work, and talk of your doings.

God does mighty wonderful acts for us every day. He protects us from harm, provides for our needs, gives us family, friends and fellow believers. He shows mercy to us and does not treat us as we deserve but redeems us. He loves us and directs our lives. He talks to us and nurtures us, He gives us so much more than we give him. Think about how he brings savor and flavor to our lives. Talk about his deeds to others.

Chill, Relax, Rest-No Stress

by Hazel Straub

Chill! Chill Out! Have you ever heard these words? Fairbanks, Alaska has received record-breaking cold temperatures recently. When it gets to -35 Fahrenheit (-37 C) and colder, it forces one to slow down. It takes time to warm the car, get dressed with winter gear, etc. Although life continues, it is at a slower pace. You still go to work but many extra activities become curtailed or cancelled.

God is calling us to chill, relax and rest. It is time to cease the busyness that keeps us from listening to the voice of God. Leave the stress and rest in the Lord. During the Holidays, it is easy to become busy with many good things. God is saying, “Chill, and relax. Cease and desist taking burdens that belong to me. Leave the tyranny of the urgent and rest in me. Let me have your stress, so you can be at your best.”

Matthew 11:28-30 (The Message)
Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Chill as defined by the Urban Dictionary:
1. to calm down
2. cool
3. to hang out
4. to be easy-going
5. a little bit cold
6. its ok

Call On God And He Answers

Take The Open Door Invitation

by Hazel Straub

Jeremiah 33:3
Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.

The Lord invites us to call on him. He hears and answers us and shows us many things that we do not know. Take his invitation today, as he longs to fellowship with you. He is touching our spiritual ears and eyes so that we can hear and see what he has for us. He is inviting us to taste and see that he is good! The door is open to him.

We Trust In The Name Of Our God

by Hazel Straub

We all trust in someone or something. Many trust in what gives fleeting pleasure, prestige or popularity. We who trust in Yahweh, God who is with us today, have a firm foundation on which to stand and depend.

Psalm 20:7-8 (NIV)
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.

God’s Eyes Look For Fully Committed Hearts

by Hazel Straub

God created us in his image, which means we are not robots but choose upon whom we rely. Whom we choose depends on our heart. Do we trust in silver, gold, our human logic, fleshly wisdom or power? Or is our heart totally committed to God with no reservations? Human or natural help seems logical but is unreliable. It is better to have God strengthening and assisting than man. God hears and answers, when we cry and rely on him.

2 Chronicles 16:7-9 (NIV)
At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him: “Because you relied on the king of Aram and not on the LORD your God, the army of the king of Aram has escaped from your hand. Were not the Cushites and Libyans a mighty army with great numbers of chariots and horsemen? Yet when you relied on the LORD, he delivered them into your hand. For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.”
