Psalm 46:1-3 (NIV)
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Selah
We can know that God is absolutely dependable. It does not matter what is happening in the physical world around us. Terrific earthquakes occur with much destruction and trigger tsunamis. Events and people can try to pressure you. God is our refuge and keeps us safe and sheltered from pursuit, danger and trouble. When we feel weak, he gives us strength to continue. He is present with us today despite the storms that swirl around us. Rest in him!

This post, and especially the picture, remind me of one of my many favourite verses:
Deut 33:27 The eternal God is your Refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.
What a great comfort it is to feel His everlasting arms under us and around us, not only when we face danger, but at all times.
