by Hazel Straub
When I am tired and weary, I find my rest in you my LORD
Unloading my stress, distress, troubles no longer stored
Washed in the blood of the Lamb, at peace with joy, blessed
Tranquil, at ease and refreshed, resting on your breast
Recovering my purpose in your love, mercy and grace
Your presence brings lightness, as I go at your pace
Ungodly expectations and measuring sticks destroyed
Transformed by true loving acceptance, I’m overjoyed

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. — Ecclesiastes 12:13

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

The theme this week from my devotions and other blog posts seems to be simple. It’s that easy–just rest in him!

Wow! needed this right now. My kid drew a picture of me looking tired and stressed. I’m so detoxing the stress right now to allow the flow of God’s rest.
