This is a new season. The challenge for you is to walk in the new, leaving the old. It is time to discard the old familiar garments of the sinful nature, with its stinking mental and emotional garbage, sinful self-interest and doing what is self-pleasing. Your desires need to come from God’s Spirit, as you wear the new clothes.
Live God’s way and he gives you good fruit that transforms your life. He gives us compassion for others in our hearts, bubbling joy, great affection for others and wholeness. When we are in Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and having mindless responses, we kill, nailing them to his cross. Wear your new outlook and clothes! Holy Spirit leads and we follow into life transformation.
Galatians 5:22-26 (NLT)
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.”
