God Pleaser Instead Of Man Pleaser

by Apostle Gabriel Cross

Be a God pleaser and not a man pleaser. Be balanced in your dealings and interactions with people. Let Christ be the center and motivation for all you do.

Galatians 1:10 (KJV)
For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Galatians 1:10 (NIV)
Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

  1. Opposites . . . one or the other . . . can’t be both.

Looking at them on paper, it is clear which one is better, but to actually live by it would be impossible. Praise God He doesn’t leave us to fight the battle ourselves, but has provided all we need to be a God-pleaser. In His name and in His enabling, we can be a God-pleaser . . . and when we submit completely to Him, we will see Him at work in the those we meet.

    • Yes God helps us. We, however, have to make the choice to please God rather than man. Thank God for grace!
