The Righteous Flourish Like A Date Palm

by Hazel Straub

The righteous will flourish like the date palm [long-lived, upright and useful];
They will grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic and stable].
Planted in the house of the Lord,
They will flourish in the courts of our God.
[Growing in grace] they will still thrive and bear fruit and prosper in old age;
They will flourish and be vital and fresh [rich in trust and love and contentment.] (Psalm 92:12-14 AMP)

The date palm trees of ancient Israel symbolize the righteous. They were medicine, food, pressed into date honey, fermented into wine, its branches used as roofs for shelters, ropes, brooms, woven mats and its trunk for construction timber. The palms grew in a hot climate, next to oasis, in deserts and in fertile areas. They provided shade. The date palms of Israel were famous and stamped on coins and decorated Solomon’s temple.

The palms take years to mature and at first grow very slowly, before a growth surge. So don’t despair, if it seems to take a long time to reach maturity. They have a complex root system that anchors the tree that can get to 120 feet (36.58 meters) tall and survive high winds. The righteous, anchored in Jesus, will flourish, through the storms.  The trees grow straight and tall, like the righteous and can live 100 years. The date palms produces sweet fruit that sustains life and is tasty. So will we, the righteous, produce good fruit of the Holy Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and faithfulness, even in old age.

Thrive, useful, upright, majestic, stable, with abundant life, as a date palm tree, glorifying God!

Create Life With Your Words

by Hazel Straub

You create your world with your words. When we speak God’s Word over ourselves, in faith, we get life. When we hear lies about ourselves, and repeat them out loud, we create curses against ourselves that has power. We curse ourselves many times, by speaking things like, my father and mother had this disease, so I will have it or I will never overcome this issue. We can repeat bad reports and give power to it.

Father, I repent (change my mind) for the sin of speaking words that do not strengthen, encourage, comfort, or correct in love. Father, people have said words about me that have not strengthened, encouraged, comforted or corrected in love, and I forgive those who spoke them. In Jesus name, I cut off all bad reports.and renounce them, in the name of Jesus.

Decree: I love (insert your name). l speak life and not death over myself and others, in name of Jesus. I choose to speak the report of the Lord.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21 NKJV)

Declarations For Identity In Christ

by Hazel Straub

What do you focus on? Is it regrets, failures, others’ flaws and shortcomings that you have experienced? Do you view yourself as a victim or an overcomer? Your life changes when you look at the promises of God for you. Declare them out loud, daily, and you will know your true identity and abundant life.

I am a lily among the thorns. (Song of Solomon 2:2)  I am loved. (1 John 4:10) I am being changed into the likeness of Christ. (2 Corinthians 3:18) I am the salt of the earth. (Matthew 5:13) I am the light of the world. (Matthew 5:14)  I am the righteousness of God, in Christ Jesus. (2 Corinthians 5:21) I am a child of God and all my sins are forgiven, through Christ Jesus. (1 John 2:12)  I approach God with boldness, freedom and confidence. (Ephesians 3:12) I do not have a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) I am more than a conqueror through Christ, who loves me. (Romans 8:37)

The LORD is my light and salvation–
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the refuge and the fortress of my life–
Whom shall I dread? (Psalm 27:1 AMP)

Your Identity

by Hazel Straub

God created each one uniquely, with a destiny and identity. So often, the enemy comes in to steal, rob and destroy our God-given identity. Although we repeated the ditty, as children, “Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me,” this is not true. Spoken negative words from parents, authority figures, teachers, siblings, bullies, or others shaped our self-image and made us feel worthless, shamed and stupid, due to their echo in our minds. These words wounded our mind, will and emotions (heart), shaping how we perceived ourselves, stealing our God-given identity.

We did not recognize that the enemy of our souls, had come to try to destroy the treasure that God had placed inside of us. We believed a lie and shaped our identity based on falsehoods, trying to please people, not God. Then we rate our life, on circumstances, not God’s Word.

God, however, created us in his image. He said our creation was good. God gives us life, our identity and establishes our value. When we listen to his Word, we learn that our identity comes from him, not people. God says we are precious and he paid an unbelievable ransom, for us, with the life of his only begotten son, Jesus. This means we are extremely valuable.

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day. (Psalms 139:13-16 MSG)

Daddy God Loves You!

by Hazel Straub

The love of Daddy God is incredible. It does not depend on our performance or goodness. He loves us and has made us in his image. When we leave him, in rebellion, he relentlessly pursues us with his love. His goodness brings us to repentance (changing the way we think) and humbly returning to him. Surrendering what we have held in our hands, giving all control to him.

There is nowhere that we can go from his love. Daddy God eagerly waits for us to return, so he can welcome and celebrate us with a party.  His love is patient, faithful, good and kind. It is not based on what we deserve but the wonderful love he has for us.

Daddy God sees us as his dearly beloved child, with whom he desires close relationship. He delights in us and cheers for us, as we go through trials. “Forgiven! You can do it! Don’t give up! Take my hand and get back up! I carry you, when you are too tired to go on your own. We are going to make it together! Rest in my love, child. Know the plans I have for you are good. I wipe your tears away and hold you close. No need for despair, I’ve got you.” Our value is not in what we do but our identity, as a child of God.

Heart Transformation God’s Way

by Hazel Straub

What we think and rehearse in our minds, manifests in our actions. When we meditate and think on the wonderful love of God, his mercy, grace, faithfulness and forgiveness for us, we give more love, mercy, grace and forgiveness to others. However, if we allow pride, offense and trauma, to take hold in our thoughts, we become proud and self-centered, self-righteous, argumentative, bitter and unforgiving. We judge others and act superior.

We need God’s weapons to pull down strongholds of the enemy, residing in our mind, will and emotions (heart). No longer letting past traumas define our present. With our full surrender and reliance on God’s supernatural help and weapons, we destroy these thoughts through Jesus. Thankful for God’s faithfulness and help, we either live bitter or better.

The weapons of the war we’re fighting are not of this world but are powered by God and effective at tearing down the strongholds erected against His truth.  We are demolishing arguments and ideas, every high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true God. We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One (Jesus).  (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 VOICE)

Prayer: I Have The Mind Of Christ

by Hazel Straub

Daddy God, holy is your name. Thank you for adopting me as your child, through your son, Jesus. Your love, grace and tender care for me, surpasses all my expectations.

I have the mind (the ability to perceive, understand, judge and decide) of Christ. My mind is not governed by circumstances but by the peace of God. I declare that anxiety, fear, worry, frustration, indecisiveness and confusion have no place in my mind. I reason, think, perceive, understand and make decisions like Jesus.

No longer do I conform to the world, but am transformed by the renovation of my mind and distinguish what is the good, acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2) I think more like Jesus and take captive every thought that contradicts Jesus in my life.  I think with clarity, accuracy, and truth. I thank you, Lord, that you are the Ruler of my mind and life through Jesus.

Amen!

The Key To Sleepless Nights

by Hazel Straub

Worried about your family, provision, job, character flaws, relationships, health, injustices, and troubles? Do you toss and turn at night, accompanied by your fears, with sleep eluding you? Sick and tired, due to the stress you carry?

The key to resolving your issues: Believe the Lord exists in your now, cares, knows and loves you. He welcomes you, as you cry out to him, all your worries and hurt. A young weaned child rests in his mother’s arms. We too, can surrender all concerns, leaving them with the Lord. We trust and believe he is our burden bearer and refuge from the storm. No struggle, snuggle, and give Daddy God your troubles. He gave his life for you, rescues and redeems you, from destruction. Rest! He has you covered!

Give your burdens to the LORD, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall. (Psalm 55:22 NLT)
