Tempted To Quit?

by Hazel Straub

It is easy to get discouraged but if you don’t quit you win. Some resign prematurely, thinking that God won’t forgive or use them because of past failures. They then fail to press into God. Persist, get up, and continue, focus on Jesus not your issues. He is your help, strength, and refuge. He gives you new vision to conquer fear and his grace is sufficient for today.

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.(2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NLT)

  4. When scripture says “A day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as one day in the eyes of God” it is easy to see just how truly short a span of time our life is, even if we live to be a hundred. Blessings Always Hazel.

  5. Focus on Jesus – yes! How could I ever think I have the power to do anything? If I depend on myself for forgiveness or strength or eternal security, then I will definitely fail. Thank you for this encouragement, Hazel.
