God will never leave or forsake you. He sticks closer than a brother. As your father, his desire is close relationship. So often we recite our laundry list of wants, needs and desires, to God. without waiting for his response.
We like to have conversations with friends and family but God is so much more than a friend. He is calling to us to stop and spend time, listening to his heart. Pause and listen to the voice of Daddy God today. He calls you, into a deeper relationship.
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. (John 10:27 NIV)

I find that pursuing God this way in conversation and relationship takes longer. I have to say it never gets boring and it never gets routine. It does defy boundaries though. It calls me more and more into the silences.

So true! I recently heard a bible talk that mentioned “when God extends his hand to us don’t slap it away”. He was saying that God helps us in many ways. Sometimes it’s through friends, sometimes it’s through an elder in the congregation, sometimes it’s a bible verse. But we can’t refuse help from friends or not read our bible and wonder why God isn’t answering our prayers. James 4:8 says if we draw close to a God he will draw close to us. Action is involved on our part and when we make an effort we gain many blessings (Proverbs 10:22).
