Surrender And Trust God

by Hazel Straub

When you surrender your will, for God’s will, there is a cost. However,  following God’s will results in joy and fulfillment that you can not imagine. Surrender to God and trust him completely, letting him direct your life. Yielding your opinions and following his instructions results in great rewards.

Trust in the Lord completely,
and do not rely on your own opinions.
With all your heart rely on him to guide you,
and he will lead you in every decision you make.
Become intimate with him in whatever you do,
and he will lead you wherever you go.
Don’t think for a moment that you know it all. (Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT)

Absolutely correct, and it is all by grace not by works! I have been disconnected by brethren and accused of being chastened of God because of my heart condition recently; only because my viewpoints about God’s grace had changed – instead of trying to do Lordship Salvation. Thank you for this post, it seems customized to my needs, and my walk, and is written in “the Spirit of Truth” (who is Jesus Christ) himself!

As we surrender to God, as paradoxical as it may sound, we become free again.

“Yielding your opinions and following his instructions results in great rewards.” I needed to read these exact words this evening… it’s tough sometimes to yield our “opinions” but the reward of doing so is worth it. Thank you.

Absolutely agree! I also think that the reason why there’s a cost to following God’s will is so that we can feel as though we’re personality invested in the plan. Our human nature drives us to value anything that we’ve sacrificed for.
( BTW, I’ve had a pretty busy month and should catch up on everyone’s blogs soon )

Yes, to the investment and valuing it more. Our priority has to start with God and that takes putting other ones and things down the list. We are called to die to our flesh daily and this does not feel good! Happy Thanksgiving!
