When we ask God for something, we must believe he will give it. To believe means to accept it as true. Be confident that the Word of God is true. What you believe, will decide what you receive.
Jesus replied, “Let the faith of God be in you! Listen to the truth I speak to you: If someone says to this mountain with great faith and having no doubt,‘Mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the midst of the sea,’and believes that what he says will happen, it will be done. This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—believe that you have received it and it will be yours. (Mark 11:22-24 TPT)

Approaching God without faith is meaningless. We must believe in Him, before we can present our prayers and petitions.

Yes, Peter, we have to have faith to come to God, with prayers and petitions. He is so faithful to hear us and answer when we have faith.
