Irritants Become Pearls

iu-1by Hazel Straub

When others rub you the wrong way, God uses them as sandpaper to refine you and smooth your rough edges. Often the thing that irritates the most, show things inside of you. Thank God for irritants, as they are the catalyst for becoming more like Christ.

Mollusks produce pearls from sand and other irritants that get trapped inside their shell.  The pearl is highly prized and valuable. Those things that are difficult, often turn into things of great beauty. Rejoice!

Yes, God’s view is the one that really matters. Selah, you carry precious jewels. Who would have thought that irritations could look so beautiful?

Yes! I completely agree, I recently have dealt with some minor irritants in my life and those situations were much needed to refine me, and draw me closer to God, I say draw closer because in the past I would have told the person(s) all what for, but I decided to man up keep my mouth shut and go before the Lord and pray for His strength and pray for them as well… My spiritual pearl wont be ready until I get to heaven, but I welcome the situations that arise now because I know God isn’t being mean, but is refining me like sand paper refines wood.

Many are the benefits of irritants in the now. We get refined and the pearls form in our character, attitudes and love right now. A post from a couple years ago speaks about the refinishing process. Check it out at:
