We are entering a new year and a time of a fresh start. Drop the old heavy luggage of the past, so you will have the energy needed for your new season. It is time to leave the regrets of the past with all the “should have,” “if only,” could have,” “why did or didn’t I.” You cannot have vision for your bright future, when you live with regrets or think that your best days lie behind you.
It is time to freshen up in the shower, scrub off the dirt of the past, and put on new clothes of love, mercy, faithfulness, patience, joy, hope and humility. Put on the mind of Christ and no longer live by your fickle emotions. Wear the glasses of anticipation and new vision for the plans that God has to prosper you, to give you a hope and a future. Walking through the door of 2015 requires that you leave the past because you and excess luggage will not fit through the door. Keep Jesus as your focus, staying close to him and you will do great exploits.
Let the song of the fresh start song burst forth from your lips! Embrace the new year with a new mindset, no longer doing the same thing and expecting different results. The greatest time of your life lies before you!
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (Philippians 4:8 NLT)
