Yahweh Knows Your Name

Unknownby Hazel Straub

Yahweh is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is our father and speaks to his children. All children know the voice of their father. He is speaking but often we fail to stop and listen.

Samuel was a boy in ancient Israel, He served in the temple and slept near the Ark of the Covenant, that represented the place of God’s presence. One night he heard a voice calling his name and thought the high priest was calling him. Twice he ran to the priest, who said he had not called him. The third time, upon hearing his name called, his response was different. Yahweh came and stood there. He called as he had called the other times: “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel replied, “Speak. I’m listening.” (1 Samuel 3:1) Yahweh then spoke to Samuel.

Today, stop and listen. Daddy God  calls you by name and speaks to you, his child. He loves you and wants a close relationship with you. Take time to listen to Daddy God.
