God Didn’t Make Us Robots

by Hazel Straub

God doesn’t compel us to go against his will, he just makes us willing to go. Jonah resisted the call to preach repentance to his enemies. Although, he went the other direction, God provided a storm and then a great fish to swallow him. After three days in the fish, he was vomited onto dry ground and went where God instructed. It is easier to obey the first time. Is there something God has asked you to do? Don’t wait, do it today!

Sometimes it’s the job you didn’t get, the random comment that makes you go in a direction you hadn’t planned on before, or the whale that swallows you up and won’t let you go till you agree to His will. Sometimes His will is easy, a matter of ‘going with the flow” and not resisting. Other times it is up hill and against the wind, but He distracts you with the symphony of beautiful sound of the wind howling through the trees, the branches bowing in submission, and the birds gliding on the currents…. Great post on God’s will! Thanks.

Inside the will of God there is no failure.
Outside the will of God, there is no success.

If we robotically followed God’s will, we wouldn’t know the JOY He bestows and the REALITY of His pleasure.
