God gives us character tests. If we fail the first time, we will get to take the test again. The same test comes again and again, until we pass. During this process, we are not alone because the Holy Spirit is our helper. Taking the time to listen and follow his instructions helps navigate through testings and trials.

Springtime in the North is a time of new life. Trees that had appeared lifeless and dead, during the long winter, now have fresh leaves, the birds’ cheerful chorus echos and a new vibrant expectancy appears in the air.
This is a picture of what God is doing with the body of believers, who are trees planted by the Lord. The season has shifted dramatically. Receive all that the Lord has for you today. Resurrected life, hope restored, broken dreams renewed, fresh anticipation, with creation joining in joyful songs of praise.

Daddy God loves you and freely gives without rebuke, blame or shame, when you ask. Make your requests with full trust and confidence, without hesitation. When you hesitate in your mind, the thought process resembles extremely unstable waves tossed in the wind. Do not expect an answer from Daddy God, when you waver in doubt, with two minds about him. He answers those who make requests with bold belief. Unfurl your umbrella over your head, confident of an immediate downpour, although it hasn’t rained for many months!
James 1:5-8 (The Message)
If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

Spend more time listening than talking. Slow to speak and slow to take offense. God, our gardener, implants the Word in our souls. Life transformation comes, when we receive him with meekness. It is time to really listen and follow his instructions. This produces change with a life that blossoms with God’s fruit.
James 1:19-24 (The Message)
“Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger. So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil in the garbage. In simple humility, let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and don’t act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like.”

God through his son, Jesus the Messiah, makes us in right standing with him. We receive abundant blessings because Jesus paid for all of our sins and transgressions, by his death and resurrection. Also he completely surrounds us with favor. Favor is preferential treatment, something granted out of goodwill and not from justice. God grants us unmerited kindness and gives us entry to privilege, as a free gift.
Thank you God for your shield of favor on my life!

Humbling myself, laying down my pride as a son or daughter
You alone can satisfy my thirsty heart and dry wounded soul
Life, hurts, trauma, drama and sin has taken quite the toll
My arms raise in surrender, relinquishing the past to you, Lord God
Yielding my will, intellect, rights, control, thoughts and fleshly bod
In worship, I release all that restrains from closer intimacy with you
My desire, focus, thirst, and heart now set only on you filling my view
In you alone and by your help I put my hope and fully trust
