The key to doing the impossible is hearing and acting on the Word of God. The disciples of Jesus were caught in a turbulent storm, on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus appeared walking on the water and his disciples thought he was a ghost. Jesus told Peter, “Come!” Peter got out of the boat, acting on the Word, and kept his focus on Jesus, walking on the water.
Peter came close to Jesus but shifted his focus from Jesus, to the strong wind and high waves. Unbelief came, when Peter looked at his circumstances, instead of focusing on Jesus and he began to sink. He cried for help and Jesus immediately reached out his hand and grabbed Peter. Jesus rebuked Peter for his little faith and for doubting him. When Jesus and Peter got in the boat, the storm stopped. (Matthew 14:22-33)
When we focus on Jesus, act on the Word of God, we will not have fear, doubt and unbelief. But we will walk in faith. If we lose our focus, refocus on Jesus, be in the Word of God and draw close to him. He loves us and calls us to believe his Word.
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (Hebrews 12:2-3 KJV)
