Choose To Pray Not Worry

by Hazel Straub

Worry and anxiety robs you of enjoyment in the moment. Most of the things which worry you, never happens. Worry is depending on yourself, holding onto trouble and forgetting the love of God, for you. The solution to worry, is to praise and thank the Lord for who he is, pray, to your Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, trust God and leave it all in his capable hands. Know he cares about everything that concerns you. Then you will enjoy an abundant life.

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. (Philippians 4:6-7 MSG)

I was taught to begin to thank God for answers in advance of them coming. It does build faith even when the answers that eventually come do not look quite as you thought they would.

Yes, thankfulness includes God giving you answers before you have it. This is biblical. Daniel prayed and ate no pleasant food. After 21 days, the angel Gabriel told him God sent the answer but he and Michael had to fight the prince of Persia, before Daniel heard the answer. (Daniel 9:20-27) We are always to be thankful.
