The Biblical heart refers to our way of thinking and our thought life. It includes our will and the resulting emotions.
Carefully guard your thoughts because they are the source of true life. Ask Holy Spirit to open up the Word of God to you, as you read. Meditate on Scripture and it will give you a healthy thought life. Since life flows from your mind, it is important to protect it because your thoughts run your life. Positive or negative talk will come out of your mouth depending upon your thoughts.
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. (Proverbs 4:23 NLT)

Amen, sister! The following verse was a part of my devotional time this morning:
Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 3:3 (NIV)
A former pastor of mine liked to say, “Obedience is when you do.” One must take positive action to keep their heart right with God.

Very true, brother David. We have to take obedient action to what God requires of us. We need to examine our hearts and get things right with God, on a regular basis.
