How To Get Through The Storm!

by Hazel Straub

When you are going through the storm, keep your focus firmly fixed on Jesus. He leads and guides you successfully, through the most narrow and dark places. Problems, however, arise when we take our eyes off him and worry about our circumstances. We begin to think about the “what ifs” and magnify the challenges.

Our focus becomes the problem and not the Problem Solver. The problem gets our time, thoughts, on which we meditate and consumes our hearts, becoming our idol. It takes first place in our lives and becomes what we worship, instead of trusting Yahweh. Anything that takes the focus off Jesus is an idol.

Change your focus and praise and worship Jesus. Look up! Stop worrying and striving, instead rest in his strength and listen to what he is speaking to you. Then you will successfully come through the challenging season.

I love you, Yahweh, my strength. Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower. (Psalm 18:1-2 WEB)

thank you! problems become idols; thoughts about problems become idols, but giving every problem to Jesus, casting our cares upon Him, knowing He loves and cares for us, taking every thought captive to obey Christ, casting down every vain imaginations about problems, is true freedom yoked to Christ, peace in Christ, putting Him first in everything, belonging to Christ, having His Spirit; rejoicing and glad for each day in Christ and Christ in us, shining His Light into the present dark world system, turning on the lights, exposing the darkness and revealing the true Light of Glory of Christ as He now is, Living Holy Righteous One on the Throne, able to turn what the enemy meant for evil to our good, giving all the glory to God!

Encouraging post, Hazel. It’s indeed true, but we often shift our focus to the problems and lose on the peace only He can give. Here’s to shifting our focus and burdens to Him.
