Secret To Health

by Hazel Straub

The secret to vibrant health is trusting and relying on God, with all of your heart. Constantly listen to his voice and depend on him completely. He will never fail you!

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track.
Don’t assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
(Proverbs 3:5-8 MSG)

  2. Not sure I agree with this translation, especially compared with the KJV, NKJV, NIV and even the NLT. For whatever reason, I thought of Joni Eareckson Tada and am meditating on how to trust and serve Jesus in spite of not having “glowing health” and “bones that vibrate with life”. Many of us Christians live with physical pain, whether it’s our own fault or not. We also may want to discuss what the definition of “vibrant life” is. And how to reckon that with individual realities as a Christian. My heart is saddened that Stephen Hawking rejected so much of Jesus in his life. In spite of and despite of his physical challenges, he was able to do so much. Christopher Reeve also did much after his accident. Again, I think the definition of “vibrant life” may need to be changed.

    • Lady Sheep Dog, I apologize for a typo. It should have read Proverbs 3:5-8 instead of Proverbs 2:5-8. I have corrected it. This is the KJV: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
      In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
      Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
      It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.” Jesus took all the diseases on his body on the cross. He does give vibrant life. Moses was 120 years old when God took him home, and his eyesight was not dimmed and he had a strength of a young man. He spent much of his time in the presence of God and was called a friend of God.

  3. lol – makes more sense now, glad I said something. I do believe that a certain level of health is possible while in a relationship with Jesus. We just have to be trusting of Him and flexible when it doesn’t happen. I know I don’t want the quality of my relationship with Him to be based on how well I feel physically. And maybe that’s why some people don’t get the healing of these earthly bodies that we think they should get. Kingdom now is a good teaching, in my opinion, even if not everyone receives the projected outcome. Jesus’ Blessings to you.

    • Relationship with Jesus cannot be based on our feelings or how we feel. The blood of Jesus, cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Qw are promised good health but our relationship comes first. Sometimes there are blockages of which we are unaware that keeps us from our healing. We do know that there is no sickness in Heaven. Abundant overflowing blessings from the throne of God to you!
