Yet Will I Trust In God!

by Hazel Straub

God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Selah
(Psalm 46:1-3 NIV)

We can know that God is absolutely dependable. It does not matter what is happening in the physical world around us. Terrific earthquakes occur with much destruction and trigger tsunamis. Typhoons, hurricanes, tornados, inflation, market crashes, and other disasters happen.

Events and people can try to pressure you. God is our refuge and keeps us safe and sheltered from pursuit, danger and trouble. When we feel weak, he gives us strength to continue. He is present with us today, despite the storms that swirl around us. Rest in him!
