Sacrifice Of My Shattered Heart

by Hazel Straub

The shofar (ram’s horn trumphet) blast cries, “Awaken!” Return to the Lord God and leave complacency behind you. Weep at the altar and yield to him. Give him your whole broken heart and hold back nothing. Humble yourself before God. Then times of refreshing will come from his presence.

Lord God, unlock my heart, unlock my lips, and I will overcome with my joyous praise! For the source of your pleasure is not in my performance or the sacrifices I might offer to you. The fountain of your pleasure is found in the sacrifice of my shattered heart before you. (Psalm 51:15-17 TPT)

    • You are welcome, CG! When things are very difficult, he turns things on the enemy of our souls and routes them! He never fails you despite what your circumstances may look like. Abundant blessings of hope and joy in the midst of the battle.

  2. I found loads of people need church services and a prayer life to overcome the pandemic response etc. Material world is grand one way and not the full medicine for happiness.

    • True happiness comes from intimacy with God and giving him our shattered heart, the way we think, our will, and emotions.
