Praise God!

by Hazel Straub

Agree and choose to harmonize with God and not the enemy of our souls. We waste much time and energy, in our thought life and talk to others about what the enemy is doing. We forget that there is power in our words. We allow the enemy’s suggestions of fear, worry, anxiety, doubt and unbelief to consume us because we agree with him, and bring misery on ourselves.

Instead, consciously decide to clothe yourselves in praise, lifting your faces to God the Father of lights. Bless, thank and praise him. Praise destroys the spirit of heaviness, as we choose to agree with God. Remember Jesus said: “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] (John 16:33 AMP)

The Lord inhabits our praise and praise of God overcomes our circumstances. Paul and Silas had been beaten and wrongfully thrown in prison. But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the [other] prisoners were listening to them, Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken; and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s shackles were unfastened. (Acts 16:25-26 AMP)

  1. This is so true so often we Christians seem to forget these things in our everyday lives and then wonder where all the trouble comes from. I am disabled due to chronic pain and two debilitating heart conditions and it surprises people that I am happy. I have no reason to wallow in misery I am a daughter of the most high God this that I suffer now will one day be gone so there is no reason for sadness and bitterness in my life.

    • What a great attitude! Things go so much better when we praise God, are thankful, and don’t wallow in self-pity! Blessings!

  2. I was awakened with concern for my 16-year-old son who has decided to date a non-Christian. I was concerned for his soul. I prayed that God would bring her and her family to Christ or bring death to the relationship and simultaneously strengthen his faith and relationship with Christ. Please pray with me about it. I prayed and am going to try to get back to sleep now and wondered how,am trying to put it in God’s hands but love my son and want his eternity to be with Jesus. I will try praising Him to sleep.❤

    • Praise the Lord! He came with earthquake shoes on and completely reversed the circumstances. There is power in praying and leaving your son in the arms of Jesus. It is time to see him in your vision as on fire for God. Thank you Father God that you love him more than his mother does. Praise your name that you hear and answer. You do not compel people to go against their will, but you make them willing to go. Thank you for this young man who hears your voice and obeys. Give him a heart like the boy Samuel, who slept by the ark of the covenant, in your presence. When you called, he said, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.” Give Tonya, wisdom to know how to act. Give her your vision for her son, so she can speak that over him. Thank you Lord that this young man has a tender heart towards you. The plans you have for him are good and not evil. Plans to prosper him, to give him a hope and a future. Glory to God! It is done! Praise God!!!

  3. Agreed, Hazel. We should stop “parroting” back what the enemy of our souls says about us. God is the final authority, and we should fill our hearts and minds with what He says about us. 🙏 May God continue to bless this blog ministry.❤️

  4. The picture reminded me of an amazing stunt of opening a locked door upstairs in a community employment centre. It was the son of god himself. No earthly people could do it. After that everyone could get inside the room to use it. That door was locked for five years or more. Brilliant stuff all around.
