Hardened Heart

by Hazel Straub

Do wounds from the past control you? Is there a shield you placed over your heart, where you let no one come, including God? Do you say to yourself, “No one will ever hurt me again!” You have hardened your heart to protect it from further rejection and to rely on yourself not God.

Jesus says, “Trust me with all your wounds and your greatest shame. I want your whole heart, mess and all. Let down your protective shell and give it all to me. Let me have your whole heart, including the good, bad, and the ugly. Trust me to make you whole, as you are honest with me. There is no need to pretend with me. Confess your need of me and I will clean you, with my blood and give you a new heart of flesh. I will never reject you, I love and accept you. Trust me!”

Keep trusting in the Lord and do what is right in his eyes, Fix your heart on the promises of God, and you will dwell in the land, feasting on his faithfulness. Find your delight and true pleasure in Yahweh, and he will give you what you desire the most. Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly! He will appear as your righteousness, as sure as the dawning of a new day,. He will manifest as your justice, as sure and strong as the noonday sun. (Psalm 37:3-7 TPT)

  1. Psalm 37 is one of my favs, Hazel! I love how The Passion translation puts it.
Delight, commit and trust in the Lord. If we do this, we can’t go wrong—guaranteed! Blessings.

  2. We all fall short of the glory of God. Yet in his love for us, he allows us to approach him to seek his mercy and salvation through our faith in his Son Jesus.

  5. The door and building reminds me of Cuba because you see a lot of that on the island. Please pray for them. Things are so bad over there. The economy is decimated and food is scarce. Families are going hungry and getting by on whatever they can find. The church is alive there, but they have a lot of opposition. May Jesus continue to do his work there!

Father God, I lift up Marla, up to you. Help her learn to trust you. You are trustworthy and will never let her down. Give her a new heart of flesh. Thank you for your love, Father.
In Jesus Name thank you for answering,
      Amen
