Relationship Irritants

by Hazel Straub

Has irritation with another person, grown into obsession with their flaws? Their actions resulted in a reaction of frustration mixed with anger because their thorns caused you pain. You wanted them to change.

God, at this point, began to show you that you had the same things operating in your life. Your intolerance stemmed from the same faults in yourself. This person sharpens you like knife honed until it is sharp, due to the reset of the blade. The things that cause you grief make your character more like Jesus. Thank the Lord, for this one’s presence in your life and forgive.

In the same way that iron sharpens iron, a person sharpens the character of his friend. (Proverbs 27:17 VOICE)

  1. If you’re going through a difficult situation, everything can change when we commit these situations to God.
He can give us victory, no matter what the issue…no matter what picture the adversaries and obstacles paint around us…no matter what is going on in the world…no matter how hopeless and fearful things may appear.
Instead of being worried and afraid, we can trust in the Lord. He can turn around any situation.

  2. Math 7:5 tells us about the speck we see in our brother’s eye while not seeing the log in our own. There is much to reflect on.

    • Yes, it is much easier to concentrate on the speck in our brother’s eye than the log in our own. Thank the Lord for his grace and mercy!
