Diamonds In The Rough

by Hazel Straub

Ever have difficulty identifying a cut diamond? The beauty, sparkle, and clarity are easy to see. But many do not value a rough diamond and have tossed them because they thought them merely an ordinary rock. But treasure hunters always have their eyes out for hidden gems. A diamond in the rough is defined, as a person having exceptional qualities but lacking polish and refinement.

God looks beyond our sinful nature and through his Son Jesus the Anointed One, redeemed us. Through Holy Spirit, we begin to look like him as he transforms us into his image and brings out the beauty he placed inside of us. We reflect the glory of our Creator God.

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun. (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)
