Where Is Your Focus?

by Hazel Straub

What has captured your attention and your thoughts? Does your personal problems, deficiencies, along with self-absorption, occupy the day? Or do you focus on Daddy God, who lovingly cares for you?

Remember, our God provides, protects, bears our burdens, hears and answers our cries, keeps promises, loves us, gives peace that passes all understanding, leads, guides, gives us his righteousness and makes a way where there is no way. He dwells inside of believers in his Son Jesus and his light casts out darkness.

Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. 3. Hi there,
I know I had shared with you that my husband was battling brain cancer. He passed away peacefully Friday, May 31st. His spirit was so steady in his faith. He had told me two weeks prior that he knew he wouldn’t be here much longer but he wasn’t afraid. He knew where he was going and was ready to meet his God. What a blessing to have had that conversation then. It has given my heart such a peace. I’m sad and grieving and learning to adjust to life without him as well as living alone but God is good all the time. And I know he has a plan for me that is good.

    • Dear Friend Wanda,
May the God of all comfort, comfort you during this time. It is good to know that your husband was ready to meet God when he passed. It is hard to say goodbye but you will see him again. God heals your broken heart and your wounds. He keeps you in peace and his love surrounds you.
Love, hugs, and prayers to you!

      • Thank you, Hazel! It gives me peace to know he was ready and unafraid. One person in my widows group said, “it’s hard to leave the time he was alive behind but it’s one more day closer to when we’ll be re-united.” Of course, I know there is no marriage in heaven but still I assume we have a connection there. God is good all the time and is sending blessings every day.
Thank you for your support, Hazel!!

    • Lift up your eyes, my friend, to Daddy God who loves you! He will never leave or forsake you. Begin praising and thanking God for his love, care, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness to you. Thank Daddy God for seeing you through other storms in your life. Thank Jesus for taking all of your grief and sorrows and carrying them for you. Thank him that you are never alone, as he is always with you, no matter how you feel. Praise and thankfulness bring the presence of God. If you intentionally praise God, things will go much better. Prayers, love, and hugs!
