The Secret To Savoring Life

by Hazel Straub

How many times have you substituted food or some fleeting pleasure and felt empty in your heart, instead of savoring God’s Word? True life and satisfaction comes from cherishing every Word that comes from God. Open your Bible, read and apply it to find nourishment and abundant life, for your soul.

He (Jesus) answered, “The Scriptures say: Bread alone will not satisfy, but true life is found in every word, which constantly goes forth from God’s mouth.” (Matthew 4:4 NLT)

Amen and thank you! When I remember that all Scripture is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16) I realize how insignificant my substitutes have been and how amazing it is that our God has left the Word for us to savor, learn and grow in!
    Blessings,

I love this…..wake up determined to make the day good. *Determine it*…..and it will happen. Find something to gripe about….then your day prob. will turn out lowsy every time. A good idea is to wake up, praise God and thank him for everything you see in the room….then sing for a while then I like to read a proverb (about five) every day, and I ask for wisdom every day….it has literaly saved my life!

Yeah, I’ve done that (what’s described in the first sentence). Always regretted it afterwards.

Yes, it is so true that substitutes for the word of God, never satisfies. God wants us to be in close relationship with him. So thankful for his forgiveness and mercy!

So true! “For all the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction, so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.” (Romans 15:4)
