God’s love for us is not based on our performance. His love does not change when we turn from him in rebellion. He does not reject us but draws us with his kindness. When we did not know him and lived in sin, he sent his son Jesus, to pay for all of our rebellion and curses. His loving kindness draws us to God, so we will change how we think, our hearts softened, so we follow his instructions, for our lives.
Do the riches of his extraordinary kindness make you take him (God) for granted and despise him? Haven’t you experienced how kind and understanding he has been to you? Don’t mistake his tolerance for acceptance. Do you realize that all the wealth of his extravagant kindness is meant to melt your heart and lead you into repentance? (Romans 2:4 TPT)

Amen! My life is certainly testimony to that. After my failed marriage I basically tried to self-destruct! Not suicide, but just such total cold hardness and indifference. When I finally broke at the end of myself Jesus was there. Fact is as I realized, He never left me. What a friend and Savior.

When I ask for favor or healing I use the phrase “not because I deserve it but because you are good”.
