Listening To Instruction

by Hazel Straub

The one who pays attention to instructions and  takes correction, brings life to himself and to others. A leader is first a good follower and welcomes a rebuke because it helps keep one on the right path. The one who refuses to listen to correction brings destruction on oneself and others who follow.

He who heeds instruction and correction is [not only himself] in the way of life [but also] is a way of life for others. And he who neglects or refuses reproof [not only himself] goes astray [but also] causes to err and is a path toward ruin for others. (Proverbs 10:17 AMPC)

  5. How can anyone know that they’ve done it wrong without instructions? It’s better to know what mistakes we’ve made early than to have our hard work collapsed in front of us.

    • Yes, instructions can save one much grief when we listen and make needed changes. You have to be humble to respond correctly to correction. Lloyd, things do collapse when we don’t listen. Your insightful comment is appreciated!
