The Love Of God For Us

by Hazel Straub

God loves us, we abide in God, who is love. His love changes us and causes us to love. When we have his love, there is no fear, anxiety or apprehension.

The love of God causes us to view ourselves and others, through the lens of love. Love causes us to bless and not curse, or to complain or to speak negatively. Our identity of living in God, causes us to see life, sifted through his fingers of love. His love makes us secure!

If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him. In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him. There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love. We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:15-19 BSB)

  7. This is so beautiful! It has resonated strongly with me this morning, thinking of one of my sisters. She has a beautiful, giving soul but is so hard on herself. My prayer for her is that she will come to see herself through God’s eyes and truly know how much He loves her.
