God Our Everlasting Rock

by Hazel Straub

When we have confidence and reliance on God, leaning on him for our strength, he gives us peace (wholeness, completeness, prosperity, health). Though we are weak, God sustains us and is our Rock, always there for those of us, who trust in him. No matter what storms come, he keeps us safe.

You (God) will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages]. (Isaiah 26:3-4 AMPC)

  4. How beautiful. What I love is that the rock is big, looks solid and strong, and yet it is beautiful to look at. A wonderful analogy of the Beautiful One who is my Rock and Shield. Regina
