New Identity In Christ

by Hazel Straub

We have a new identity through Christ, who took our sins.

We decree a thing and it is established. Decree out loud: “I am in Christ, a new creation, old things have passed away and I am new.”I am the righteousness of God in Christ.” You will see yourself differently, as you realize who you really are.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV)

  6. Amen! This is so very true that we’re new creation in Christ Jesus old things have past away an behold all things are made new. It’s a awesome thing to know we have a new identity an we’re over-comers right now here within this present dark sphere of life.

Here’s what the Word of God says concerning our life in Christ Jesus.

    Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. Great post, as well as encouraging. God bless.

  8. Good mornin.

This is the one subject that that is the most thrilling and the most puzzling to me.

What I mean is, my identity, my thrill, my core, my joy, my everything is that I’m the righteousness of God in Christ. If you ever read my posts, you’ll see Romans 3.22 plastered all over the place, I OWN this…”Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:”

In this truth are many inclusive truths for every Christian…we can’t ever go to hell because we’re perfectly righteous. We have zero sins to our accounts, because we’re perfectly righteous. We eagerly await our Savior, because we’re ready to stand before God in judgment because we’re perfectly righteous. And no matter how crummy, disappointing, and unfair life can be (including our sinning) we have thrilling joy that we’re perfectly righteous…We’re the righteousness of God 24/7!

If that’s not reason to be ecstatic about the treasure of being the righteousness of God, then I don’t know what will make a person happy.

    But yet…

I virtually NEVER hear other Christians mention, (let alone celebrate) that they’re the righteousness of God.

    Why?

This is the most fantastic gift in our justification, and it’s ignored…

    Why?

    • We (believers in Jesus) live in Christ and we are the righteousness of God. I for one, celebrate this truth. It is the essence of our identity. You may not hear this from other Christians due to a confusion of their identity that comes from Christ. But there are many Christians who celebrate this. God our Father gave his Son for us, so we can celebrate we are the righteousness of God. We come to our Father through Jesus. He wants to commune with us and speaks to us. God wants us to read the Bible and ask Holy Spirit to bring it to life. Many Christians fail to read the Bible and they don’t ask Holy Spirit to help them see the truth.

      • I suppose that’s the reason, it just bothers me that this supreme gift so ignored by its recipients.

Lord bless you, and smiles and niceness to you and your family.
