Lord, Increase My Hunger And Thirst For You

by Hazel Straub

The Lord says: Do you have the same hunger for me as you have for food, possessions and entertainment? Do you long to eat and drink the delicacies of my spiritual food and drink, more than anything else? I desire to sup with you but you are too busy. My heart yearns for you to spend more time with me, so I can satisfy your true thirst and hunger.

Rest and worship, as did the woman, who desired my presence more than the approval of men. Her breaking her alabaster box and pouring its costly precious perfume, on my head, was fragrant worship that remained with me, when I laid down my life for you. (Matthew 26:6-13)

I long for worshipers that desire me more than anything else. It is time for you to cry out to me: Make me more hungry and thirsty for you, Jesus!

Oh, who will pay the price, to truly worship me, seeking me with their whole heart? Come away with me, my beloved.

    • Yes, the Lord loves us so much and calls to us. He wants our hearts most of all. His cry calls us to hunger and thirst for him. So blessed to know that this post calls to you!

  3. I needed this today. Worship in spirit and in truth. An audience of One. Greater hunger and greater in filling makes all this easier too. Blessings, God is Good!

  4. Thank you. It is time for us to truly develop our relationship with Christ vertically. Many times we attempt to develop relationships with others horizontally before we develop one with Christ vertically. His desire is for us to draw near to Him. Again, thank you.
