How we think and view life determines our health. When we are full of laughter, joy and thanksgiving, we thrive. Negative thinking brings depression and sadness, which reflects in our body’s function. Gratitude to God, causes rivers of living water to flow out of us and brings abundant life!
A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17:22 HCSB)

AMEN. A couple years ago, the Lord spoke to me about how much gratitude is tied in with our health. And He gave me a little song that helps me remember the powerful connection. When the Spirit began to give it to me, I found myself singing it to the tune of that little children’s chorus that teaches basic hygiene and grooming: “This is the way we brush our teeth, brush our teeth, brush our teeth; this is the way we brush our teeth so early in the morning ….” But the words He gave me to sing were these:
“I will have a grateful heart;”
A grateful heart is a cheerful heart;
A cheerful heart is medicine
So I can be well and strong.”
When I’m tempted to complain and feel sorry for myself, I find that little song is a great help. By the time I’ve sung it four or five times, my whole attitude is changed.

This is so true especially in difficult situations. Laughter helps perspective.
