When you are going through the storm, keep your focus firmly fixed on Jesus. He leads and guides you successfully, through the most narrow and dark places. Problems, however, arise when we take our eyes off him and worry about our circumstances. We begin to think about the “what ifs” and magnify the challenges.
Our focus becomes the problem and not the Problem Solver. The problem gets our time, thoughts, on which we meditate and consumes our hearts, becoming our idol. It takes first place in our lives and becomes what we worship, instead of trusting Yahweh. Anything that takes the focus off Jesus is an idol.
Change your focus and praise and worship Jesus. Look up! Stop worrying and striving, instead rest in his strength and listen to what he is speaking to you. Then you will successfully come through the challenging season.
I love you, Yahweh, my strength. Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower. (Psalm 18:1-2 WEB)

Was only thinking upon this today … was it possible that chronic illness can become one’s ‘idol’ ???? … sometimes it’s hard to not focus on anything else when one is consumed by pain/suffering day in and day out. Lord, please help those who are in any situation of continuing sickness to always be able to turn unto Thee … no matter the circumstance.
