Developing Patience

imagesby Hazel Straub

There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit! (Romans 5:3-5 MSG)

It is a fact that patience is developed when we first of all make concerted efforts to fight our troubles and then wait for the next one to come and then the other and then do not lose ourselves in the bargain – thinking GOD is there on the fringes to render us assistance. WHY WORRY THEN?

God is always front and center in our lives. Patience is a a virtue that makes a difference in making it through a crisis or limping along ineffectively. God shapes us into awesome people with wonderful fruit of the Holy Spirit.
