Our thought life is very important. We must guard what comes in through our eye gates and ear gates. If we feed on worry, fear, negativity and bad news, we will exist depressed, defeated and deprived of sleep. Instead when we meditate on the best, the truth and the goodness of Jesus Christ, praise and song bursts forth from us. Our sleep is sweet and peace surrounds us.
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies. (Philippians 4:8-9 MSG)

A lovely post, Sister Hazel. I will do my best to think on “these things” today.

We are transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2)
We need to guard our eyes, ears and thoughts and keep our focus on the Lord and His Word and will.
