Season Of Sudden Blessings

by Hazel Straub

God often speaks to me through the weather. Winter weather lingered longer than normal this year, in Alaska. It was still snowing with temperatures in the 20’s F (-3.33 C) with less than two weeks left in May. A week later the snow that had accumulated, since October, was finally melting. The trees, however, showed no sign of their leaves springing forth anytime soon. However, the temperatures that had been cool, soared to the mid-80’s F and the trees that had appeared brown and lifeless, suddenly had leaves unfurling. By the third day, the green leaves did not look new but full and mature. In a short moment, we went from winter to summer.

When I asked the Lord, what this meant. He said, “Get ready for sudden change. This is the season of sudden blessings. The last season might have seemed difficult and long but suddenly everything changes.  Delayed promises do not mean denial. Get ready to receive the sweetness of my goodness, suddenly.”

🙂 / Me too! I’m ready for changes. It’s been a long dry spell, with lots of death around me.

    Love this!

Sometimes it is the famine that makes us desperate for more of God and change. The thirst and hunger increases and we long for water and the lushness of fresh life. Then suddenly heaven responds! Hallelujah!
