Double Rainbow Meaning

    by Hazel Straub

A double rainbow lit the darkened cloudy sky. God said, “Trust me through the storm, I have you. Don’t lean on your own understanding but lean into me, as the showers refresh. Embrace my wind, it blows the mosquitos away. Know my rainbow is a double one of covenant. They witness to my faithfulness. Trust me. I bring you through the storm. I am here for you.”

  1. Hazel,
Your message in this blog is beautiful: Lean on God . He will always see you through. This is so hard for so many people to do, I guess until they really get to know God and his promises. I like this post, especially. It is poetic.

    • Louise, this post is not a Bible verse. You can read about the covenant God made with Noah and all life on earth with the sign of the rainbow in Genesis 9:8-17. Double rainbows are a double witness of God’s promise for all generations.

  3. I saw a double rainbow today and I have been praying sooo much lately
for financial help to pay my rent. I told God, it’s ok, you don’t need to give
me a sign…I know you are here and will help me and my husband. At 3:08p.m. I was closing my bedroom window and started shouting to my husband, LOOK, LOOK!! A DOUBLE RAINBOW! It lasted for around 5 minutes. I Feel so happy right now, I know soon we will find a way to pay our rent. GOD IS REAL!!! Don’t ever give up on GOD! You will find HIM/HER!!

    • Myshele,, the double rainbow is God’s assurance to you that he will never leave or forsake you and that he is with you in covenant. The second rainbow is his witness that it is so. No matter what he loves and cares for you. Enjoy him and delight that he put the double rainbow in your path.

I LOVE RAINBOWS. No doubt, God needs those daily reminders of why He lets life go on!

I have been spiritually down for some months now and was extremely fed-up with God’s silence on Friday night. Seeing the double rainbow was a first in my life and also a first in front of our house. I was so excited. I am sure its a message from God and I look forward to finding the answers someday…….

    • WLoo, God wants you to know that he hasn’t forgotten you and is with you. The rainbow stands for God’s covenant with man after the flood that destroyed and cleansed the world. When God makes a covenant he doesn’t break it. A double rainbow is a special sign to you that he has not forgotten you and your home in which you dwell. Even though you haven’t heard him lately he gave you a double sign, a double witness that he loves you and hasn’t forgotten you. He remembers your name and where you live and wants you to know he loves you no matter how you might feel. It’s a new day and God’s favor is with you!

I have been praying more just about different things, but I am facing an eviction, trying to look for a new job etc and I prayed to the Lord for help, and I am just walking by faith that he will provide. Today walking out the bathroom. There was a short thick line of rainbow colors on my wooden closet door it was glistening and transparent it was so beautiful. There was a little light shining through the peep hole of my front door but I’ve never seen a rainbow reflected on a wood door. I was wondering what that could mean. I am still not sure but I started smiling and filled with peace. God is Good

The rainbow encircles his throne, (Revelation 4:3) and he uses it on earth to remind you that even in the storm, he is there with you. God is speaking to you through his covenant rainbow, to let you know that you are not alone. He has heard your prayer and cry for help and is using his rainbow to remind you, Niecy, that he is your shelter and refuge. God fights your battles. He has provision for you in the midst of your pain. His light shines through the darkness, overcomes it and gives you beauty to marvel out. Nothing is impossible when you put your faith in God!

Today while in the emergency room with my mom I saw a beautiful double rainbow. I have been struggling with issues in my own life then with both my parents. Things were getting to much for me. I prayed about everything and gave it back to God. Then in the midst of the stress of another life threatening illness, I saw this beautiful rainbow. When I got home I started looking on line for Biblical meanings of a double rainbow and ran across yours. Thank you so much, it gave me much comfort to read your blog post.

I cried out to God with so much hurt, spoken to the first lady (My Mother) and she encouraged me to continue to seek God and ask him to reveal to me what my eyes and heart can not see. Before going through what I am going through My father preached on How the devil can distract you with your emotions.(I started to find peace this morning) then to see the double rainbow today I was so amazed and needed to find a spiritual meaning to this and came across this page. TYJ this has given me so much peace and a sound mind, Thank you Thank you for such a confirmation because this storm I can’t face alone. At the time I was not over the top for Jesus, and now I know that I had a lot of growing in the word to do. The funny thing is the more that I grew in the word of God the storm did start to come. But thanks be unto God that, He had prepared me to keep my faith in Him, at times it was hard and I thought I may sink under the pressure, but I held on for dear life, and praise God through every storm I am still holding on.
