God wants us to have compassion, for those who are giving spiritual birth. When a person is giving birth, they go through many changes, much like a natural mother giving birth.
Look at the birthing process, from the eyes and perspective, of the husband or father. When the mother was about to give birth, the pain was unbearable. She experienced frustration, eager for the birthing process to end. She looked at her supporter, standing near her. The one who had supported her throughout the process was hoping that he could feel her pain. She squeezed his hand as hard as the pain and frustration she was feeling, desperate to hurry and give birth. He felt the squeeze of her hand and the pain of her squeeze. But he knew it was nothing compared to what she was going through. He began to feel a deeper compassion, for the one giving birth. His love for her grew so strong that he wished the frustration and pain she bore, was either his to carry to help her through it, or to pray that God would make it easier for her.
Understand, giving birth is not always easy. God is causing some to give birth and wants us to stand by each other side through the process. He wants us to have compassion, praying for them and loving them through it all. At times, you may even feel sympathy pain. But compassion, love, mercy and more love will help them through the birthing process. So when your sister, brother, pastor, apostle or friend, in Christ, is going through spiritual labor pains throughout the birthing process, encourage them. Don’t be like the one that says, “What’s wrong with you?” or “You are crazy!” Be the one that says, “I am interceding for you and I am with you.” Because your time is near, to give birth too and someone is praying for you.
