Forgive Others Without Measure

by Hazel Straub

Pride always insists on being right. It says, “I forgave them of the same thing more than once and I will not forgive it again. I am right and what they did is not forgivable.” Pride goes before a fall and gives a false sense of security.

God, however, is calling for us to forgive, more times than we can count. It is better to forgive and release the person to God than being full of pride and unforgiveness. You think you are right but instead are dead wrong. Because when you choose not to forgive, you will not receive forgiveness from God. We all fail, offend others and need forgiveness. Release the offenders from your judgment. Speak blessings and do not curse them. Fight to love others and do not insist on being right. As you love and forgive others with humility, blessings of forgiveness will pursue and overtake you.

Matthew 6:14
“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
