Idol worship is anything you spend more time thinking and pursuing, rather than God. The primary focus of your thoughts that put God in secondary or last place. An idol is not only an image but that on which we spend our time, energy and what we think upon. Is your goal to shop for the latest status symbol? Consumed with fighting your own battles? When you obsess about yourself–your problems, weaknesses, worry, anxiety, how others look at you, what you believe, obtaining status symbols, or plain “I,” these idols take the place of pure honor and worship of God. Focusing inward and not on God dependence. Spending more time on sports or other passions but neglecting to cultivate your relationship with God? Step out of your comfort zone and seek God with your whole heart and leave all idols behind you. Only pursuit of God satisfies!
Lord, Deliver me from blindness, and from myself, as I look to you, my Deliverer. I leave my idols behind and follow you alone. Today, I want to crave only you, God and all you have for me. Give me kingdom of God vision and your perspective. Today, I give you my full worship and obedience. Your praise bursts from my heart and out of my mouth, for your mercy. Praise your name!
Live as one who has died to every form of sexual sin and impurity. Live as one who has died to the desires for forbidden things, including the desire for wealth, which is the essence of idol worship. (Colossians 3:5 TPT)

Come and rest, on my chest, in simple trust. My relentless love pursues and soothes. There is no need to do, just relax, I never give up on you.
The wounds of your past heal, as you allow my soothing salve, to penetrate deep, into your heart. I am your healer and deliverer. Trust me, with all the deep crevices of pain buried, within your heart. Know that I will never harm you but am your physician, exposing the wounds to the light. Forgiveness, as defined in the Bible, means to send away the offense, from yourself and the one who offended you. By an act of the will, you release the offender, from the debt owed you and you do not bring it up again. God shows his love for us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) He forgave us, when we were his enemies. Jesus was righteous and sinless and before he gave his last breath he said, Father, forgive them, they know not what they do. (Luke 23:34 a) This forgiveness and mercy made a way for us, to receive forgiveness, for our sins (missing the target).
To receive God’s forgiveness, we must release the offenses against us and the offender. Don’t confuse forgiveness with a feeling. It is a decision and act of the will, to let the offense go and allow God to heal the wounds, in your soul. The offense sent away can no longer plague you. Otherwise, you relive the wrongs done to you and exist in negativity, hurt and anger.
Jesus instructed us, to forgive (let it go), without counting how many times,you do it. If you do not forgive, you judge the other person and will find yourself repeating similar negative patterns, to what the offender has done. When you let the offense go and consider the debt paid, you will receive mercy and forgiveness, with your sins forgiven by God. Life will be much sweeter.
But instead be kind and affectionate toward one another. Has God graciously forgiven you? Then graciously forgive one another in the depths of Christ’s love. (Ephesians 4:32 TPT)
