Spruce Tree Lesson

by Hazel Straub

While listening to the Lord, the sun highlighted the tops of the spruce trees that had immature spruce cones. “The seeds of greatness are within you but they are not yet mature. Stay close to me, supple and pliable to my will. You will grow and mature and have mighty impact for my kingdom. Let my wind blow so cross-pollination from other trees will help in the maturing process. Once you are mature, you will leave the spruce, your seeds will release and die. As you kill the selfish flesh, the seeds sprout and produce many new trees. Patience, trust and reliance upon me brings forth much fruit.”

Let me make this clear: A single grain of wheat will never be more than a single grain of wheat unless it drops into the ground and dies. Because then it sprouts and produces a great harvest of wheat—all because one grain died. “The person who loves his life and pampers himself will miss true life! But the one who detaches his life from this world and abandons himself to me, will find true life and enjoy it forever! (John 12:24-25 TPT)

I love Colossians 1:6-29 right now, especially “warning and teaching every person in all God’s Wisdom from Above, that all may be presented mature in Christ…striving with all the energy Christ inspires within us by His Holy Spirit” but let’s face the truth: I love ALL of God’s Word, his Life and Spirit made flesh in Jesus and revealed to us by the Holy Spirit and His Christ formed in us by the Spirit and fire sent by God our Father! glory, glory, hallelujah!
