by Apostle Gabriel Cross
Please do not discount or devalue the unconditional love and approval of God, for the conditional love and approval of others. Many today, have diminished and replaced the approval of God, with the “like button,” on Facebook or other social media sites. We have become more consumed with “who likes me,” and “who loves it,” and not with the “One whom created me,” and “unconditionally loves me.”
For example, we all desire to be heard, but sometimes, God desires us to be silent, or to study to be quiet. Some have no accountability to others, because they have no accountability to God. Therefore, they are prone, or liable to, post anything, whether it’s pleasing to God or not. We are not our own, but we belong to Yahweh. Therefore, when you live for the approval of others, you already have your reward. However, when you live for the approval of the King of kings, you realize you’re already approved and even greater will be your reward.
Don’t trade God’s approval for the approval of people. Don’t reduce your life in Christ, to living by the impulse of what other people are thinking, saying on social media, on the news, and in the world. When it’s God, it’s God, and when it’s not, it’s not.
Don’t determine if you’re right with God, or how anointed you are, based on how many likes and hits you receive. You remember, David got in trouble for counting numbers (1 Chronicles 21; 2 Samuel 24:1).
Don’t fall for the gimmicks and tricks of the enemy: “If you post this you’ll be blessed, if you don’t you’ll be cursed.” “Share this with 5 people and you’ll be blessed with an angel tonight.” If you hit like on this, you’re not ashamed of God, if you don’t hit like, then you are.” These are all gimmicks, clichés, and schemes of the enemy. God has not called you to live by these things, you are called to live in Truth, every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
Live for the One, who can create and end life, and raise it up again, not for the one who can only end it. Live a genuine fruitful life in Christ, not one that is predicated on the opinions, idioms, and the superficial of social media. All these things are subject to change, but the Word of God does not, it only changes your life, forever.

This is a timely post, brother. As a certified people pleaser, I sometimes find it easier to keep the peace than to follow the Prince of it.
I appreciate your admonishment about the down side of social media. It’s easy to count the likes, comments, and little red numbers.
Thank you for a good word. Blessings.

Thank you for sharing this.
Wow. I laughed at the example of “if you share this to…people you will”. I just read and pass such posts.
We are called to love Him but not under compulsion. It should be genuine!

Wow, AMEN! What powerful truth you’ve shared here. Being led forth in peace is powerful. Where there’s no peace, God probably isn’t in it. Pausing even for just a moment to give Holy Spirit the opportunity to guide is amazing. He always will! Thank you so much for sharing this! 🙏🏼
