Conquered By The Good Shepherd

by Hazel Straub

Feeling battle fatigue? In a war zone with no end in sight? Good news, God, your Good Shepherd, accompanies you through the darkness and guides and comforts you! His faithful love conquers all the negative emotions.

You are not alone, he fights for you, and infuses you with his peaceful presence. All fear leaves because his love surrounds you, fills you with joy despite the circumstances. The dark pathway soon ends and his light and life are your portion.

Lord, even when your path takes me through
the valley of deepest darkness,
fear will never conquer me, for you already have!
You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way.
Your authority is my strength and my peace.
The comfort of your love takes away my fear.
I’ll never be lonely, for you are near. (Psalm 23:4 TPT)

  5. I was just thinking on this very thing this morning. When it seemed that my entire life fell apart, He was there; and showed Himself mightily. I look back, it’s a distant memory; but His goodness, promises and comforting presence are always so near. Praise YHWH! Great post!

  6. The language here I find refreshing; it echoes a sermon I heard recently that used the phrase “conquered by the truth”. I love how it reflects the power and majesty of God. Also, “fear will never conquer me, for you already have” — we cannot serve two masters; our hearts are already occupied by the superior one, so we have no need to cede to fear.
