The Amazing Treasure Of God’s Word

by Hazel Straub

Tired and struggling? The Word of God renews our minds, when we meditate on it. It refreshes and replenishes our thinking, giving us joyous light in our inner being. It is the rarest treasure that gives life and health to our bones, when we read and think about God’s Word. It changes us from the inside and its light shines from us!

God’s Word is perfect in every way;
how it revives our souls!
His laws lead us to truth,
and his ways change the simple into wise.
His teachings make us joyful and radiate his light;
his precepts are so pure!
His commands, how they challenge us to keep close to his heart!
The revelation-light of his word makes my spirit shine radiant.
Every one of the Lord’s commands is right;
following them brings cheer.
Nothing he says ever needs to be changed.
The rarest treasures of life are found in his truth.
That’s why I prize God’s word like others prize the finest gold.
Nothing brings the soul such sweetness
as seeking his living words. (Psalm 19:7-10 TPT)

  5. Love it – how long have you been blogging – no idea how you came across my writings or how to build a following but God put it on my heart to post an entry a day and that is what I have diligently been doing – any tips/advice/words of encouragement appreciated

    • Glad this post ministered to you. Checked your blog and it looks like you haven’t posted for quite some time. The first thing we do is pray and ask Holy Spirit to highlight the subject and what is said in the post. Good blogging involves being consistent in posting, interacting with others, being positive and encouraging, not getting in arguments, and having a meaningful message that is enhanced with photos and brevity. Have been blogging daily since January 2010.

  10. Amen, brothers and sisters in Christ! This inspires me to share one of my favorite examples of God’s perfect word….Exodus 21:1-11 “These are the laws you are to set before them: 2 “If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything. 3 If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him. 4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free.
    5 “But if the servant declares, ‘I love my master and my wife and children and do not want to go free,’ 6 then his master must take him before the judges. He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life.
    7 “If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do. 8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself, he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. 9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. 10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights. 11 If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money.

    • God’s Word gives us wisdom and tells of God’s wonderful love to us. He sought us when we were his enemies and had his only begotten Son, Jesus, lay down his life for us and pay our debt for our sins. Amazing Love!
